Project E-Hustisya
Project E-Hustisya is a student-driven legal clinic of WVSU College of Law, with support from the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the European Union (EU) Governance in Justice Program (GoJust).
Project E-Hustisya aims to address the gap in the implementation of laws that advocate the rights of women, children, and the marginalized. This initiative was borne out of the recognition of the reality that the number of vulnerable women and children in the Philippines is staggering. To address the information gap among women on their rights, it is important that they be made aware of the laws dedicated for their protection.
Projetc E-Hustiya has three activities, namely Legal Aid Clinic, Ihiba-LAW: A Legal Lecture Series, and Legal Student Practioners Training. The said lecture series are conducted in various venues, such as in the academe, non-profit organizations and legal government units. It aims to empower the community, especially women and their children, by providing training on Gender Sensitivity and the rights afforded to them by relevant laws, such as RA9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act, RA7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse act, and RA11313 or the Safe Space Act, among other laws.
